Two shipwrecks caused the death of at least 94 people in Libya.

During the night of Thursday to Friday, November 13, 2020, 20 people perished off the Libyan coast, the teams of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reported in the city of Sorman (northeast).

According to the NGO, only three women survived this sinking where 20 people drowned.

Yesterday, Thursday, November 12, another shipwreck had killed at least 74 people, according to an assessment published by the International Organization for Migration (OIM). The sinking took place off Khoms, a Libyan coastal city located some 180 kilometers east of Sorman.

The OIM counts, moreover, 47 survivors who have undertaken this crossing to join the Italian coast.
