After the vaccines of Pfizer / Biontech and Moderna, a third vaccine against the COVVI-19 showed a significant efficiency rate. This is the Russian vaccine “Spoutnik V”.
Russia announced this Tuesday, November 24, 2020, that its vaccine was 95%effective. “The preliminary results obtained on volunteers 42 days after the injection of the first dose showed that the effectiveness of the vaccine was more than 95%,” the Gamaleïa research center in Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Health and the Russian Sovereign Fund (RDIF), in a statement.
The “Spoutnik V” vaccine, currently in phase 3 of clinical trials, should cost less than $ 10 on the international market, the RDIF announced on Tuesday, adding that vaccination for Russian citizens would be free.
Recall that the Pfizer (United States) and BionTech (Germany) laboratories announced, on November 9, that their vaccine is 90% effective to prevent COVVI-19.
Pfizer and Biontech, even hope to obtain approval by American and European regulators, next December, for the marketing of their vaccine after the results of the final trial which then showed a success rate of 95% and without any serious side effects.
For its part, the American biotechnology company Moderna has announced that its coronavirus vaccine has proven to be 94.5% effective to prevent contamination.
