Ons Jabeur sets the tone!

Ons Jabeur, world number 2 and finalist of the US Open is preparing to take the way to the tennis courts on the occasion of the Jasmins Open (250 points) scheduled in Monastir (October 1 – 9).

This female tournament with 250,000 dollars will be the first WTA tournament organized in Tunisia and it is logically that our champion will be the number 1 series.

During a press conference, organized last night in Tunis, Ons Jabeur expressed his pride in participating in the first WTA tournament organized in Tunisia which she wishes to win, obviously counting on the support of Tunisian supporters.

During this press conference, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Kamel Déguhe, stressed that the reception by Tunisia of the Jasmins Open was “a dream difficult to achieve given the scale of the challenges posed but which could have been granted thanks to the public-private partnership and the participation of Ons Jabeur”.

“What Ons Jabeur has done for Tunisia has far exceeded sports diplomacy, she also carries many promising projects for sport in general that we will work together to implement them in the future,” said the minister.

The Jasmines Open will bring together in the final table of 32 players from the 100 best in the world and will take place on a central court with a reception capacity of 2,500 supporters, in addition to the short annexes ”.

According to the president of the Tunisian Tennis Federation, Selma Mouelhi, the organizing committee will place giant screens to follow the outside matches besides the Tournament television coverage.

Recall that twenty players who are part of the Top 100 confirmed their participation.
