The Organization for International Police Cooperation, Interpol, has launched a warning to its 194 member countries so that they are preparing for actions of organized crime focused on coronavirus vaccines.
Interpol has sent an orange security alert notice, in which it evokes “a potential criminal activity linked to counterfeiting, the flight and illegal promotion of COVVI-19 and flu vaccines”.
According to Interpol, “the pandemic has already given rise to an unprecedented predatory and opportunistic criminal activity”. The threat is expected to increase at a time when several vaccines are about to receive approval.
The organization also warns its members against the risk of circulation of false tests, the use of which may multiply with the upcoming resumption of international trips.
