France began its vaccination campaign against the coronavirus two weeks ago. 139 cases of “serious or unexpected” adverse effects were identified in this country while five people died after receiving the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine, according to the French Ministry of Health.
According to the France 3 channel, in common between these deceased people: they were all over 75 years old and they suffered from comorbidities, that is to say the presence of one or more disorders associated with a disorder or a primary disease such as diabetes.
“These are people who were able to die in the days who followed vaccination without presenting signs of allergic reaction following vaccination,” said the French Minister of Health, without giving more details.
Also in Norway, in a press release, the public health agency explains that it has identified “23 dead associated with vaccination” against the COVVI-19. “Current side effects may have contributed to severe evolution in fragile elderly”.
Tunisia was the first African country to authorize the marketing of the Pfizer – Biontech vaccine. This is an exceptional and temporary marketing authorization of one year.
The authorization was granted after the assessment of the file submitted by this laboratory, led by experts affiliated with the National Laboratory for the Control of Medicines and to the National Pharmacovigilance Center, as well as experts in the field of virology, toxicology, immunology and infectious diseases.
Tunisia and the two Pfizer and Biontech laboratories had signed, in December, a contract for the acquisition of the coronavirus vaccine they developed. The first lots will be imported by Tunisia from March 2021 after obtaining all the necessary agreements.
