Deemed insufficiently filtering in the face of the appearance of new variants of the coronavirus, the artisanal protection mask is now not recommended in France.
The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, called on the French to no longer “use a craft mask”, announcing that a decree must be promulgated in this direction, this Friday, January 22, 2021.
This decree should concern the use of certain fabric masks including those made homemade and industrial masks in fabric so -called “category 2”, said the Minister of Health, on the recommendation of the High Council of Public Health.
From now on, only three types of masks will therefore have to be carried in public space in principle: surgical masks (from the medical world, with a blue side and a white side), FFP2 (the most protective) and masks in industrial fabric called “category 1”.
