In order to curb the progression of the pandemic, Berlin plans to interrupt the flights to its territory.
According to Horst Seehofer, German Interior Minister, the government is obliged to adopt drastic measures due to the danger represented by the various mutations in the virus.
“These measures include significantly stricter controls at borders, especially to those with areas at risk, but also the reduction of air trips to Germany to almost zero, as is already Israel,” said the Minister to the newspaper Bild who adds that Chancellor Angela Merkel is favorable to this measure.
“The population, which accepts significant restrictions in Germany, expects us to protect it as best as possible from an explosion in the number of cases.”
