Several doctors and epidemiologists have considered that the coronavirus will be defeated by humanity by the end of the year, except that the World Health Organization does not agree.
The World Health Organization (WHO) considered it “unrealistic” on Monday to think that humanity will be rid of the COVID-19 by the end of the year.
Michael Ryan, director of WHO emergency operations, said it would be possible to lower the number of hospitalizations and deaths, “but the pandemic is nonetheless virulent, especially after a new increase in the number of cases this week after seven consecutive weeks of decline”.
“It would be very premature and, I think, unrealistic to think that we are going to end this virus by the end of the year,” said Ryan. “But I think what we can end, if we are intelligent, these are the hospitalizations, the dead and the tragedy associated with this pandemic,” he continued.
