The American biotechnology company Moderna began trials from its COVVI-19 vaccine on thousands of children aged 6 months to 11 years. This is what she announced in a statement made public on Tuesday, March 16.
6750 children from 6 months to 11 years old participate in this clinical trial in the United States and Canada, Moderna said, which already produces for adults.
“This test, for which the first doses began to be injected will make it possible to study safety, tolerance, the production of undesirable effects and the effectiveness of the vaccine,” it was said.
At first, two different dosages will be studied for children aged 2 to 11, and three dosages (including one even lower) in babies from 6 months to less than 2 years old.
While more than 344 million doses of Vaccines against the COVID-19 have been distributed worldwide, the High Authority for Health in France recalls that to date, vaccines against the COVID have not received authorization by the European Medicines Agency for children under the age of 16.
