The Ever Given container carrier, which has obstructed the Suez Canal in Egypt for almost a week, has been awarded 80% “in the right direction”.
The canal authority (SCA) announced on Monday, March 29, 2021 that the back of the ship moved 102 meters from the shore when it was four meters.
“The start of the ship’s bailout succeeded,” it was said in a statement.
The Ever Given, with a length of 400 meters had stuck diagonally south of the canal on March 23, interrupting traffic on the shortest navigation road between Europe and Asia.
At least 369 ships are waiting to cross the canal, and large world losses have been recorded due to this incident, the cause of which would be a human error.
