Caroline Garcia, 6th in the WTA ranking, won the Masters WTA, for the first time in her career.
The Frenchwoman beat the Bélarusse Aryna Sabalenka in the final, 7th in the world, 7-6 (7/4), 6-4, in Fort Worth in Texas.
The 29 -year -old Lyonnaise is the second French player to be crowned in this prestigious event, bringing together the eight best players of the season, after Amélie Mauresmo who won against her compatriot Mary Pierce in 2005.
