Vaccination is in full swing worldwide. In parallel, this is the question of setting up a vaccine passport that concerns several countries.
In France for example, a first step was taken. An application has been developed to promote travel, it also incorporates vaccination certificates. In the same way as for tests, it will be possible for people who have received the two injections to justify this vaccination via the dedicated tab.
Except that the World Health Organization opposes it. The WHO Emergency Committee on the COVVID said it is not favorable to a compulsory vaccine passport for international travelers, even if practice seems to seduce.
In a statement, experts, responsible for guiding the WHO chief, recommend that it “do not require evidence of vaccination as a condition of entry” for international travelers “given the limited evidence (although increasing) concerning the performance of vaccines on the reduction of transmission and given the persistent inequality in terms of global distribution of vaccines”.
“The States Parties are strongly encouraged to recognize that the requirement of evidence of vaccination can worsen inequalities and promote differentiated freedom of movement,” they write.
