At the request of Tunisia, a meeting of the Security Council will take place this Wednesday to examine developments in Palestine.
The attaché to the diplomatic department to the Presidency of the Republic, Walid Hajjem, said that this meeting, which will take place in camera, came at the request of Tunisia which coordinated with the Palestinian part, China, the current president of the Council, Norway, Ireland, Vietnam, Saint-Vincent-et-les Grenadines and Niger.
At its meeting on Monday, the Security Council did not reach an agreement on a declaration ordered violence in Al Quds, due to the reservations made by the American delegation which estimated that a “public message was not appropriate at this stage”.
The aim of the meeting being to discuss the serious escalation which results from the attack of the Israeli authorities against the occupied Palestinian territories, in particular in Al-Quds and the invasion of the esplanade of the Al-Aqsa mosque.
