Tunisia continues its efforts to ensure international mobilization for the benefit of Palestine

While Tunisia has failed twice to request a meeting of the UN Security Council, Tunis, continues its efforts in favor of the Palestinian cause against the background of the last events in Palestine.

As a non-permanent member country at the UN Security Council, Tunisia continues its contacts at the highest level with the member countries of the Council as well as with the influential “brothers and friends” to ensure international mobilization in favor of the Palestinian cause.

According to a press release made public, this Friday, May 14, by the Presidency of the Republic, the Tunisian mobilization intervenes in consecration of the “historic” and “constant” position of the country in favor of the just Palestinian cause and the law of the Palestinians to peace and to an independent state.

Furthermore, Tunisia said he followed the continuation of “odious” assaults on Palestine, land and people, denouncing the provocations and violations committed by the occupation forces in the pregnant of the sacred places and which have already made several innocent “victims.

On instructions from President Kais Saied, Tunisia provides a great effort to summon the Security Council to assume its responsibility in the maintenance of international security and peace, it reads in the same press release.

Tunisia also calls on the UN Security Council to intervene quickly to end the “glaring” assault against the Palestinian people.

Two closed-door meetings on the situation in occupied territories took place at the call of Tunisia in coordination with the Palestinian side, the presidency of the Security Council and the member countries. A third public meeting should take place, assures the presidency of the Republic.

Tunisia has reiterated its constant position in favor of the just Palestinian cause and in favor of the law of the Palestinians with an independent state.

Tunisia, China and Norway called on Thursday to hold an open meeting of the Security Council to debate the latest developments in the occupied territories.
