Fifteen months after closing its borders in order to curb contaminations at COVID-19, Algeria is about to reopen them by deciding, this Sunday, May 16, 2021, to partially reopen their borders, from June 1.
In a press release, the Presidency of the Algerian Republic announces that this reopening will begin with a plan of five daily flights of and from the airports of Algiers, Oran and Constantine, with the application of preventive measures relating to the fight against the propagation of the coronavirus.
All the details concerning the measures applied and the effective reopening of the borders should be communicated in a week, the press release said.
The scientific committee responsible for the coronavirus pandemic in Algeria approved, on May 13, the imminent reopening of borders under strict conditions.
Thus, people arriving in Algeria will have to present a negative PCR test dated less than 36 hours and submit to other tests. Negative people will be allowed to enter, those positive will be subject to around forty days.
