Does China face a relapse of the epidemiological situation? The authorities are worried.
A district of the city of Guangzhou in southern China was confined on Saturday May 29, while local authorities are trying to contain an increase in coronavirus cases.
An opinion from the Guangzhou Municipal Health Bureau published on Saturday identified five streets in the Liwan district in the city center as “high-risk areas”. He ordered their inhabitants to remain confined until testing tests carried out with door-to-door, reports the AFP agency.
Twenty cases of COVID-19 were reported last week in this industrial center north of Hong Kong, which has some 15 million inhabitants.
The markets, schools and entertainment places in this sector have been closed. Local authorities have started massive population screening tests which had encompassed until Wednesday 700,000 people.
