The rich countries of the G7, which meet this Friday, June 11 in Cornwall (southwest of England), will undertake to distribute to poor countries a billion doses of anti-Cavid vaccines.
Gathered until Sunday, they should announce that they will provide at least a billion doses of coronavirus vaccines by sharing doses and funding them provided that the production of vaccines is extended in order to achieve this goal.
The United States has already committed to providing 500 million doses of Pfizer-Biontech, to 92 countries as part of the Covax system. The White House has also confirmed the purchase by the United States of these doses of the vaccine in order to donate it to countries in need. For its part, the United Kingdom has announced a donation of 100 million excess doses.
