The president of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse, was murdered this Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in his private residence by a commando formed by foreign elements. The president’s wife was injured in the attack and hospitalized.
“Around the morning a group of unidentified individuals, some of whom spoke in Spanish attacked the private residence of the President of the Republic and thus fatally injured the Head of State,” announced Prime Minister Claude Joseph.
Elected in 2016, Jovenel Moïse, 53, announced on Monday the appointment of a new Prime Minister, Ariel Henry.
