Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy was sentenced to one year in prison. His sentence will be set up under the electronic surveillance regime.
This conviction is part of the Bygmalion case relating to illegal funding from its 2012 campaign.
This is the second conviction for the former French president in the space of a few months.
In March, the former Elysée tenant was found guilty of corruption and influence traffic in the case of “listening”. He had been sentenced to three years in prison, including a farm.
