The fortune of the ten richest men in the world has doubled in two years of pandemic

A report by the NGO Oxfam on global inequalities reveals that the fortune of billionaires has increased more in a few months of pandemic than in the last decade when poverty has accentuated.

According to this report published on Monday, January 17, 2022, the fortune of the ten richest men in the world has doubled since the start of the Pandemic of Covid-19, while the 99% revenues of humanity melted, denounced Oxfam.

“Inequalities kill” is the title of the report that the NGO has published, reporting in passing that the planet has a new billionaire every 26 hours since the start of the pandemic, while inequalities contribute to the death of a person every four seconds.

The cumulative fortune of all billionaires has known since the start of the pandemic “its strongest increase ever recorded, of $ 5,000 billion, to reach its highest level at 13.800 billion”.

The fortune of the ten richest men in the world has gone from $ 700 billion to $ 1500 billion, during the first two years of the pandemic.

The ten richest people in the world include according to Forbes magazine, Elon Musk, Tesla boss, Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Bernard Arnaud (LVMH), Bill Gates (Microsoft), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta/Facebook), Waren Buffett (Berkshire Hathaway), Larry Ellison (Oracle).

At the same time, 99% of the world’s population had less important than expected and more than 160 million additional people have switched to poverty. Oxfam also reveals that inequalities contribute to the death of at least 21,000 people per day, a person every four seconds.
