The President of the United States assured that he was willing to speak with his Russian counterpart “at any time and whatever the format”, according to the head of American diplomacy.
US President Joe Biden is ready to “meet” his Russian counterpart “at any time, whatever the format if it avoids a war” in Ukraine, his head of diplomacy, Antony Blinken, on CBS on Sunday 20, February 20.
The Secretary of State also reaffirmed that the diplomatic way was still possible “until the tanks are actually in motion and the planes in the sky”.
The American president must also speak with Emmanuel Macron, who, for his part, spoke with Vladimir Putin. They agreed to try to lead to a diplomatic solution to the current crisis.
Reacting to Emmanuel Macron’s proposal for a summit between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, the Kremlin spokesman, however, tried, today that he was “premature” to speak of a summit of presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, announced by France to defuse the crisis.
“A meeting is possible if the heads of state (Russian and American) consider it useful,” he added, noting that MM. Biden and Putin always have the possibility “when necessary” to speak to each other “on the phone or in another way”.
