An American film festival in Tunis

After the JCC, the JCE, it is American cinema which will be in the spotlight from December 9. It is not only a question of projecting American films, but it is above all an opportunity to welcome big names in independent American cinema.
“Views of America” is starting to stand out on the cultural scene. Indeed, while the JCC try to jet the event, the latter invest mainly on the parallel role of this kind of initiatives … namely to transmit and exchange with the participants.
The great novelty of this year’s edition is the “artistic partnership with the Sundance Institute, organizer of the International Sundance Festival”, which is the biggest independent film festival in the world.
They thus promise us films exclusively and worldwide, but also the presence of two directors and two producers of the Sundance Institute.
The moviegoers will be able to enjoy themselves, but young professionals too. Indeed, as its habit, this festival is above all an opportunity to involve young people through, among others, Master Class at Isaam (the Higher Institute of Multimedia Arts in Manouba).

“Views of Amecia” is organized by Hisham Ben Khamsa, he offers 6 films. Among these films we find a documentary that traces the course of Barck Obama. The directors “Amy Rice and Alicia Sams have followed up since 2006, the young senator of Illinois, eight months before his appointment to the Democratic inauguration”.
Another favorite is “Amareeka”, a fiction that tells of the journey of a Palestinian who goes to work and join her son in the United States.
All the films that will be screened have been selected and awarded at major international festivals (Sundance, Cannes and New York).
It is at the Africart cinema that it will happen and it is from December 9 to 12.

The program is available on the Views of America website (www.viewsofamerica.com)
