What scenarios for the book fair?

The Tunis International Book Fair should have been held at the end of April. However, the Ministry of Culture announced that the event would be postponed next November.

A consultation is currently underway between various partners who should draw the scenarios of the future of this fair which, during the mandate of Boubaker Ben Fredj, experienced notable progress. Having become an international fair in the full sense of the term, it has indeed managed to hold the dragee to those of Algiers, Cairo and elsewhere.

However, the censorship which aimed several books had then constituted a point of friction between the organizers and certain media. How will the future of this fair which constitute an achievement not to lose?

It seems that the organization should now be entrusted to a steering committee which would include three poles. First, the competent services of the Ministry of Culture. Then, representatives of the Tunisian writers chosen from the members of the Union, the self -employed and the Syndicat of the Pen. Finally, representatives of the Union of Publishers.

For the moment, it is this structural scenario that prevails and could lead to a director committee of the fair that would include nine members. In addition, all the major cultural events (JCC, JTC, etc.) are currently experiencing a stage of reflection for the recovery. Indeed, the theatrical days of the Carthage should also be held in November but a doubt still persists as for their content.
