As part of the debates initiated around the theme “Youth, culture and development”, the International Cultural Center of Hammamet organizes a meeting with the members of the Artistic Laboratory of the Revolution (LAR). This meeting will take place Sunday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at Villa Sébastian.
Born in the Nabeul Beaux-Arts Institute, the LAR is an initiative of students specializing in photography of the “Art and Communication” department of this university establishment. Present on all fronts, these students did an important documentary work during the different stages of the Tunisian revolution.
This is how a vast collection of photographs was born with the contributions of six artists of the new generation who are Chadia Ghanmi, Yosra Ben Hassine, Rakia Ladouli, Malek Marzouk, Wassim Hadhak and Khaled Mechrgui. These artists, whose average age is 20 years old, have given birth to striking and vibrant works that testify to the Tunisian revolution.
Beyond the works, the educational approach and the theoretical supervision of this initiative were the result of a group of young teachers resolutely engaged in the development of this artistic laboratory of the Revolution. Actors in a new educational contract, these teachers consolidated the approach of their students by supporting their work as reporters in the field at the Kasbah or Ras Jedir to name only these examples.
This group of teachers will also participate in this round table which will also include the theoretical and practical lighting of Dalel Tangour, Haythem Ben Farhat, Amine Tira, Mounir Bdioui and Safouane Jelloul. Fully involved in the animation of the LAR, these teachers thus offer an alternative approach in their educational relationship with students.
This round table of May 9 will include two additional components. First, the viewing of works will analyze the creative approach and the documentary tone of the collection of photographs born within the LAR. Then, the theoretical and practical approach of this initiative will be presented and discussed with the public.
Recall that the Hammamet International Cultural Center has been organizing innovative debate cycles with young creators working in the educational and associative world since March.
