Juventus received a penalty of 15 penalty points on Friday by the Italian federation after being pinned for accounting fraud during transfers of players between 2018 and 2021.
The old lady received 15 points of penalty in Serie A and is thus demoted to 10th place in the ranking.
Juve had been acquitted with ten other clubs in this file, in the spring of 2022, but the Federation Court of Appeal accepted the request of the federal prosecutor to reopen the file. This choice was motivated by elements transmitted by the Italian justice which also investigates the accounts of the Italian club.
In total, eleven leaders are suspended, including former President Andrea Agnelli, who prohibited from exercising for a period of two years, Fabio Paratici and Pavel Nedved.
Juventus has the opportunity to challenge before the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) this sanction which greatly compromises its chances of ending in the first four of Serie A and therefore to compete next season the Lucrative Champions League.
If other clubs had been prosecuted originally, Juventus has always been on the front line in this file, accused of having notably overvalued the sale prices of certain players to record capital gains artificially inflated in its accounts.
Juve is also the subject of a judicial investigation into possible accounting fraud to artificially limit its losses in its balance sheets presented to investors.
