Hymn to freedom: a lamentable variety

Saudi Arabia plans to acquire the h bomb!

Saturday, September 10, I planted in front of my television to watch, on France 3, the mega show announced as the cultural event of the year with the pompous title of “Hymn to Liberty”, recorded the day before at the Roman theater in Carthage. First deception instead of the announced event, we attended a program of French TV varieties in the third area with all the ingredients: presenters with a dubious humor, Play-Back, interviews, inserted reports, à la carte public …

This operation cost some 2.5 billion media, or about 1.2 MD of approximately and was co -produced by two private companies: free electron of the famous Lagardère group and Media Froggies. Recall that Libre Électron was the official producer of Frédérique Mitterrand of the time when the latter made documentaries for television and that this production company, whose boss is a French of Tunisian origin Yannis Chebbi, did not leave the best impressions during the shooting of a similar program (concert for tolerance) a few years ago on the side of the medina in Yasmine Hammamet.

The Tunisian taxpayer will surely ask himself a question: how much this Chakchouka Mitterrand, Haouas and Bach cost the ATT, Tunisair, Orange Tunisia and at the Ministry of Culture? For what purpose all these money expenses, overnight stays, plane tickets, rental cars and others? Solidarity being a hollow argument surely, is the goal the promotion of our country? But this program was broadcast at 11 p.m. (French hours) which demonstrates the interest that the subject arouses in our French “partners”. So in the absence of interest it may be necessary to admit that we were scammed or complacent because for the same price we could have organized two or three major concerts of major international scope on Avenue Habib Bourguiba in Tunis. These concerts would have been relayed by our public or private televisions with the key to a surely more interesting result in terms of visibility, without waiting for France33 to give us the idea, but of course if they were Tunisian producers we would have shouted in scandal, corruption, wine pots and so on! ! !

France3 Zappe Bendir Man

Let’s go back to the stage where this lamentable variety brought together international artists and has been with Tunisian artists playing intelligent extras. We could have invited other committed artists whose avant-garde discourse is far from being circumstantial such as Le Forestier, Souchon, Bernard Lavilliers. This would have avoided us the filiform wife of BHL playing the precious ridiculous by wiggling in front of the Guevara poster: null, she really contrasts with El General. As for Bendir Man, which was announced in all press releases as part of the variety, it has not passed, perhaps we have forgotten to record it, erased from the final montage or perhaps the Tunisian artist was politically incorrect, our “partners” giving us a beautiful lesson in “democracy” again, but may also be that the roles have changed, we will see …

As for the public, he was handpicked with an invitation a “revolutionary” practice from which we have long suffered in our festivals and which returns at a gallop, but all that did not prevent the bursting of a fight according to certain websites. I would be curious to hear the response of certain officials when we will parallel between these practices for the hymn to freedom and other older ones where the Roman theater of Carthage was filled with a bus stroke when the stands were empty. This operation of France3 is reminiscent of an air of deja vu and another TV channel which recorded its own concerts in Carthage: the sadly named Rotana…

El Che, El General, El Bach

The last word returns to our Minister of Culture as in the variety: this gentleman on the return, we should give him a revolutionary nickname like El Che whose first name was Ernesto. This inevitable demagogue claimed, and we want to believe it, that he was the Prime Minister of Culture to go on the stage of Carthage, and that it was the first time that ten thousand spectators were in the theater, while the presenter believed that there were only eight thousand. Note that some shows have drained more than twelve thousand people in the past. El Bach having been absent for Tunisia for a long time did not know that since the tragic events of Béja and Sfax, the gauges were limited to eighty percent of their real capacity and yet Laurent Boyer knew it. Unless the Minister of Culture was limited to his post-revolution count. And he is right in this case, because and let’s not forget the Roman theater of Carthage has always housed the summer festival, except this year since decreed impracticable by our greatest and eminent specialist in archeology namely Master El Bach himself. But perhaps the theater was closed for exceptional catering commensurate from the hymn to freedom. The icing on the cake, the minister finished his intervention thanking France for a long time and Mitterrand. Fortunately he was caught up in extremis by Abdelli who thanked Tunisia, “for producing a TV show for France”.

There are people who never change because they are from another time with a third-world, underdeveloped thought always believing in the cat of the Bey who pisses on our roof.
