Outgoing President Emmanuel Macron came widely at the top of the first round on Sunday evening, with 28.2%. He is ahead of Marine Le Pen, also qualified in the second round, at 23% of the votes.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon arrived third in the 21.6% ballot ahead of Éric Zemmour (between 6.5% and 7%, the ecologist Yannick Jadot (between 4.4% and 5%) and the candidate LR Valérie Pécresse (between 4.3% and 5%).
The second round will be held on Sunday April 24.
