Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, was extradited to the United States where he was prosecuted for a massive leak of confidential documents. The information was confirmed this Friday, June 17, 2022 by the British government.
In the United States, he risks a heavy prison sentence for having broadcast more than 700,000 classified documents on WikiLaaks on WikiLaaks on American military and diplomatic activities, in particular in Iraq and Afghanistan, since 2010.
Asked by the American justice, the Australian risks 175 years in prison. He was arrested in 2019 after spending more than seven years refugee in the Equator Embassy in London.
