The right to abortion abolished in half of the states

Big controversy in the United States. Half of the country’s states could prohibit or restrict the right to abortion (voluntary termination of pregnancy). A twist that comes after the Supreme Court has confirmed that this right was not included in the American Constitution.

The Supreme Court made freedom to the 50 American states on Friday, June 24, to prohibit abortion on their soil and a handful of them immediately seized it, half of the states in order, ultimately, seize it.

The Missouri general prosecutor announced on Friday that his state became the “first” to prohibit abortion. In particular followed the Arkansas and Oklahoma, where the authorities immediately applied the new ban.

Twenty-two states-especially on the west coast and in the northeast-will retain the right to abortion and some have even taken measures to expand access to abortion, in particular by authorizing more health professionals to practice them or by increasing the funding of the clinics, reports the AFP agency.
