In a statement to local media, yesterday Sunday, July 31, 2022, Algerian president Abdelmajid Tebboune said that Algeria has been and will always be unwavering support for Tunisia, which its historic duty imposes.

Adding that his country deals with the legitimacy in Tunisia represented by his Tunisian counterpart, Kais Saïed, being the legitimate president, elected by his people, and therefore, it is natural to deal with him.

Regarding the hearing awarded to the Secretary General of the UGTT, Noureddine Taboubi, alongside President Kaïs Saïed, during the 60th anniversary festivities of Algeria, President Tabboune said that his country does not play the mediator between the two parties and that there is no dispute between the Presidency of the Tunisian Republic and the union center.

On the other hand, he insisted that the internal affairs of Tunisia can only be resolved by Tunisians and that he would never allow himself to interfere in the internal affairs of Tunisia and that Algeria will support this neighboring country economically.
