King Mohammed VI announced this Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the joint candidacy of Morocco, with Spain and Portugal, to organize the 2030 World Cup.
On the occasion of the award of the Excellence Prize for the African Football Confederation for 2022, in Kigali, Rwanda, the Minister of Moroccan Education and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa read a message from King Mohammed VI announcing that “Morocco has decided, with Spain and Portugal, to present a joint candidacy to house the 2030 World Cup”.
This joint candidacy, unprecedented in the history of football, will be that of the junction between Africa and Europe, between the North and the South of the Mediterranean, and between the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds, noted Mohammed VI in this message.
