FBI looking for nuclear weapons documents
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

According to the Washington Post, US intelligence agents searched former President Donald Trump looking for classified documents relating to nuclear weapons.

This search of Donald Trump’s home in Florida had been very publicized without revealing the reasons.

According to the Washington Post, citing anonymous sources but “close to the investigation”, FBI agents were notably looking for classified documents relating to nuclear weapons.

While we thought that this search was linked to the involvement of the former president in the assault of the Capitol, in January 2020, the Washington Post indicates that this “unusual search” is mainly linked to “the deep concern of government officials” in the face of the possibility that this nuclear information “fall into bad hands”.

At present ‘uncertainty still hangs over the precise object of these documents or if they have been recovered.

In any case, Merrick Garland, the Minister of Justice, announced yesterday that he had asked a Florida judge to make public the mandate which authorized the FBI to search the residence of the former president.
