Fighting broke out on the night of Friday to Saturday August 27 in Tripoli, between the armed fractions of the two rival governments.

According to a first assessment presented, at least 32 dead and 159 injured are to be deplored according to a report released on Sunday by the Ministry of Health.

Six hospitals in the capital have been affected in these fights which fear a new war in Libya.

The clashes between competing militias, with a light and heavy weapon, broke out in several districts of Tripoli (west) where brushwoods and bombardments sounded overnight from Friday to Saturday, reports AFP.

According to some sources, the fighting resumed this morning, Monday, August 29, 2022, in Tripoli.

The Consulate General of Tunisia in Tripoli in Libya published on Saturday August 27, 2022, calling for Tunisian nationals to vigilance and to avoid conflict areas in the city.
