On the sidelines of his victory at the WTA 500 of Charleston, the first in his season, Ons Jabeur has won points in the WTA ranking. By beating in the final the Swiss Belinda Bencic, Ons Jabeur won a trophy but also 165 points which allow him to total 5031 points and exceed French Caroline Garcia (4990 points).
In the new WTA ranking, the Tunisian, now 4th, remains behind the Polish Iga świątek (1st / 8975 points), the Bélarusse Aryna Sabalenka (2nd / 6891 points) and the American Jessica Pegula (3rd / 5735 points).
Ons Jabeur had lost his place as a world number 2 on January 30, to find himself 3rd after being exceeded by the Bélarusian Aryna Sabalenka. At forced rest after her knee injury, she then regressed in 4th place on February 20, then in 5th place in the world, on March 20, 2023.
