As expected, the Russian president formalized, Friday, September 30, in Moscow the annexation by Russia of four Ukrainian regions, Donetsk, Louhansk, Zaporijia and Kherson.
An annexation widely denounced by Ukraine, but which Putin threatened to defend even with nuclear weapons.
Moscow also used its veto yesterday to prevent the adoption of a resolution of the UN Security Council condemning this annexation represented.
The draft text, written before the signing on Friday by Russian President Vladimir Putin of the annexation documents of the Ukrainian regions, wanted to “condemn” the organization by Russia of “so-called illegal referendums” in these regions.
