The National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis Activities (ANRAC) in Morocco has just issued the first ten authorizations for culture and export of cannabis reports local media.
Following the ratification of the measure authorizing the cultivation and marketing of cannabis in Morocco last June, the ANRAC now issued the first 10 licenses which make the production of this substance for medicinal purposes.
Abdeluafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior of the Alawite Kingdom, explains that this measure is part of the search for new “development opportunities”.
It should be noted that the process of legalizing cannabis production reached the Chamber of Representatives of Morocco at the beginning of the previous year.
As of February 25, 2021, the executive of the president of the time, Saad Eddine El Othmani, began to study the proposal, as reported at the time the official Moroccan news agency. Today Morocco formalizes the legalization of this substance.
