The General Assembly of the United Nations has ordered the “illegal annexions” of Ukraine territories by Russia to a large majority. Moscow had put his veto to a similar text presented to the Security Council at the end of September.
The resolution carried by Ukraine and Corédigé by the European Union was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly with 143 votes for. Five countries voted against, and thirty-five, including China and India, abstained. Tunisia, has it, voted for.
Among the abstainers: China, India, Pakistan and South Africa, despite diplomatic efforts made by the United States in recent days.
The Ukrainian president asked international donors on Wednesday to amplify their financial support, explaining that his country needed funds to rebuild schools and housing destroyed by months of Russian bombing.
