In a statement made public this Monday, May 1, 2023, CAF severely denounced acts of violence occurring during the quarterfinals of the African Champions League between the Hope of Tunis and the sports youth of Kabylia on Saturday evening.
The CAF estimated that these images, as well as those observed in another match in Casablanca in Morocco, do not honor the reputation of African football, and to announce that the judicial structures will examine these events.
The quarterfinals of the African Champions League between the Hope of Tunis and the Sports youth of Kabylia was interrupted more than half an hour due to serious incidents on Saturday evening. A fire has notably started in an access corridor.
Interior Minister Kamel Feki ordered the opening of an investigation on Sunday following violent events that took place yesterday at the Radès stadium.
