An Iranian was killed by the security forces for celebrating Iran’s defeat against the United States in the World Cup, human rights defenders announced.
Mehran Samak, 27, horny in Bandar Anzali in the northwest of Tehran, after the match lost against the United States. The security forces then opened fire, denounced human rights defenders.
“The young man was targeted directly and reached the head by the security forces …”, said group Iran Human Rights (IHR), based in Oslo.
Another group, the Center for Human Rights in Iran (Chri), based in New York, also said that the man had been killed by the security forces by participating in the celebrations. He published a video of his funeral in Tehran during which we heard the crowd shout “dead to the dictator”.
The defeat of Iran Tuesday evening in Doha against his sworn enemy and his elimination of the World Cup have aroused among the Iranians both scenes of joy and despair, in a shared country in the face of the protest movement launched two and a half months ago.
On Monday, the Iranian authorities for the first time reported the death of more than 300 people since the troubles start.
