The American authorities announced on Monday that the death toll of snowstorms in the country “has increased to at least 50 people, including 27 in New York”.
This Tuesday, December 27, 2022, American president Joe Biden declared the state of emergency in the western New York State, against the backdrop of snowstorms.
Biden said on Twitter that he had spoke with New York Governor Kathy Hochul to make sure the state had all the federal resources necessary to deal with bad weather and the repercussions of the snowstorm.
For his part, Hochul estimated that New York is “at war with nature”, stressing that this destructive storm is “the Blizzard of the century”.
