A press conference was held this Friday morning, April 10, at the Maison de la culture Maghrebine Ibn Khaldoun in Tunis, presenting the first session of the “International Festival of Art, Youth and the City of Siliana”.
This festival will take place from April 12 to 26 in Siliana, northwest region of Tunisia. He was presented with his challenges, during this conference, by Khaled Abida, president of the RAKCH association for culture, art and design, Hadheb Garfi, regional culture commissioner of Siliana, Anouar Yahia, regional commissioner of youth and sports of Siliana, and Abdelaziz Krid, one of the founders of the Rakch association.
As Khaled Abida, director of the Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts of Siliana and president of the RAKCH association, points out in Tunisia. The association seeks to introduce art to the city and make young people aware of this culture.
For him, a difference between the regions is obvious, resulting in a disparity in culture between these disadvantaged regions.
“It is the aberrant injustice that we have raised in terms of cultural development between the interior regions and the coastal regions of the country,” explains Khaled Abida, director of the Higher Institute of the Arts and Crafts of Siliana.
Fight against regional disparities
“Why not contribute after the revolution to the beginnings of a possible cultural provolution,” wonders Abdelaziz Krid, one of the founders of the association.
Before the Revolution, Tunisia was subdivided into two parts. “It is not a natural, but rather political subdivision,” he explains.

“Young is not only school, studies, it is also public space, cultural” notes Abdelaziz Krid, the teacher in Siliana, “it is the cultural that is missing and not in Siliana, in Tunis too, it is absolute poverty in terms of artistic animation, rather than cultural only. »»

“The Siliana region is a richness in nature, in archeology, historically speaking. There is a lot to discover in these places, ”he adds.
A new tourism that could avoid “terrorism”
The link between culture and tourism is also essential for the transmission of young people according to the founder of the Rakch Abdelaziz Krid association.
“As an association we try to invite, to motivate to another type of tourism. It is a dialectical relationship between culture and tourism. »»
This new tourism will be able to prevent young people from being influenced in particular by jihad. The association is fighting against this rise in terrorism among young Tunisians who are easily influenced.

These young people are certainly hallucinated, but they are, also, completely unconscious because work and work is the only “jihad” blessed by the good Lord “underlines Khaled Abida, president of the Rakch association for culture, art and design.
