The Tunisian Ons Jabeur will try to defend his title at the Berlin tournament (WTA 500), on the occasion of the new edition scheduled from June 19 to 25.
The 6th world had won the latest edition against Switzerness Belinda Bencic (13th).
The Berlin tournament will record this year the absence of the world’s N.1, the Polish Iga Swiatck, newly crowned at Roland-Garros, but will see the participation of four players on the world top 5 in return, namely the Belarusian Arina Sabalenka (2nd), victorious of the Australia Open, the Kazakhe Elina Ribakina (3rd) Caroline Garcia (4th) and the American Jessica Pegula (5th).
As a reminder, Jabeur reached last week on the quarter-final of Roland-Garros where she was dismissed by the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia (currently 10th) in two sets at 1 (6-3, 6-7, 1-6).
