The World Nomads Festival of the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) will again focus on Tunisia this year.
According to the New York Times, Tunisian culture will be presented once again at the World Nomads festival in the Alliance Française, which will be organized in New York from May 8 to 10.
This festival, which had already presented artists inspired by the Arab Spring in 2011, will showcase singer Sonia M’Barek, musician Bassam Saba, and filmmaker Nejib Belkadhi.
Sonia M’Barek will perform with Bassem Saba and the Qanun Slim Jaziri player on May 8. Director Nejib Belkadhi will see his documentary “7 ½”, on the transition from Tunisia since the fall of the Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali regime through the country’s first democratic elections, be projected first in the United States on May 9.
The same day, a sign will celebrate the work of the Tunisian poet, the late Abdelwahab Meddeb.
