Like Twitter, Meta will offer a paid subscription for Facebook and Instagram, which will allow users subscribing to it, among other things, the famous blue lozeve next to their identifier.
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta boss, announced yesterday, the launch of “Meta Verified”, a subscription from $ 11.99 per month to authenticate his account on the platform.
“The idea is to improve the authenticity of profiles and therefore exchanges and security on our services,” said Mark Zuckerberg in a message broadcast on his Instagram channel and on his Facebook account.
But it is also a way to garner new sources of income, in an economic context. Indeed, this announcement comes at a complicated period for Meta, which saw its annual turnover drop for the first time in its history.
Meta Verified will first be tested in Australia and New Zealand from this week, before being extended to the United States and other countries.
