The French channel France 24 announced that it has “exempt from activity pending audit results” a journalist and three of his correspondents, for anti -Semitic remarks.
“After the questioning of a journalist and three Arabic -speaking correspondents of France 24 about certain remarks they would have posted on their personal pages on social networks, the management of the chain immediately triggered an audit, as it informed internally from March 10. Pending the results of this audit, the four persons concerned had been exempt from activity to protect the integrity of the work of all the Arabic-speaking editorial staff of France 24, whose editorial content, both on the branch and on digital environments, make it a chain of balance, non-partisan, verifying the facts and cultivating constructive debates thanks to the professionalism of its journalists “, it was communicated.
Following the audit which made it possible to authenticate publications, France 24 signified to the production company which employs Joëlle Maroun in Lebanon that the chain puts an end to any collaboration with this journalist because of intolerable messages posted on his personal accounts, at the antipodes of the values defended by the antennas of the international chain and criminally reprehensible.
By the way, these media professionals would be prosecuted for simply using the term “martyr” by evoking the Palestinians killed under the bullets of the occupation.
