The Head of Moroccan government, Aziz Akhannouch, inaugurated yesterday, Tuesday March 21, Smart Factory, first pharmaceutical factory 4.0 in Africa.
Built on an area of 12,000 m2, Smart Factory required a global investment of more than 300 million Moroccan dirhams (almost 28 million euros).
Completely digitalized, this new industrial unit will allow the Pharma 5 group to multiply by 5 its production capacities while ensuring perfect traceability of all production processes thanks to artificial intelligence.
Engaged for 40 years in favor of therapeutic independence and access to care for all, Pharma 5 confirms its rank of pioneer in the pharmaceutical industry in both Morocco and Africa.
With more than a billion units produced in 2022, Pharma 5 is today a leader in generic drugs in Morocco and export to more than 40 countries, thus rising in 7th place on the African market which has no less than 1,200 international players.
Industry 4.0 is based on four essential pillars: cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things, Big Data and Cloud Computing. These technologies come together to create a connected factory where machines can communicate with each other and make decisions independently.
