Ons Jabeur rose to the Wimbledon final, for the second consecutive year, following his brilliant victory in the semi-finals against Aryna Sabalenka.
The feat is large for the Tunisian (6th) who qualified for her second consecutive final in Wimbledon after her victory against the world number 2, Aryna Sabalenka in three sets (6-7, 6-4, 6-3).
It was a very tight and very disputed match between the two players, who did not give up and went to the end of their strengths.
Aryna Sabalenka and Ons Jabeur fought at length during the first round, the two players remaining sovereign on their commitment, before the Belarusian won the tie-break despite a bad start (7-5) and the first round 7-6 after 58 ‘of play.
Determined not to let go of anything, Ons Jabeur took advantage of Aryna Sabalenka’s soft blow to start again and finally return to a round everywhere by winning the second set 6-4 after 40 ‘of play.
In the decisive set, Ons Jabeur led the debates continuing on his momentum of the second set and won this 6-3 round (in 41 ‘) and the gain of the match.
The Tunisian will face in the final on Saturday, the Czech Marketa Vondrousova, who qualified himself by having the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (6-3, 6-3) in 76 minutes.
Recall that let’s Jabeur started this Wimbledon by beating, during the 1st round, the Polish Magdalena Frech, 68th in the WTA ranking in two sets (6-3, 6-3). She then beat the Chinese Zhuoxuan Bai (192nd) in two sets (6-1, 6-1) in the second round. Then, it has difficulty eliminated in the third round the Canadian Bianca Vanessa Andreescu (50th in the world) in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
In the round of 16, she only bought the Czech Petra Kvitova (9th in the world) which she beat in two sets (6-0, 6-3) before eliminating the Kazakhe Elena Rybakina (3rd) in three sets (6-7, 6-4 and 6-1).
