Faced with an influx of unprecedented migrants, Italy has declared the migratory state of emergency for six months.
This decision follows the landing in Italy of more than 3000 illegals in the last three days.
The state of emergency will be in effect for six months and some five million euros will be released for the regions of the southern country most affected by massive arrivals, said the cabinet of the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
According to the Ansa news agency, the state of emergency should, among other things, facilitate the establishment of new reception centers.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 31,000 migrants have illegally arrived on the Italian coast, almost four times more than in the same period of the last year.
