The Alexandre Roubtzoff gallery in Marsa welcomes this Saturday, October 29, the opening of the exhibition “Gara father et fils”.
This exhibition proposes to discover recent works by Raouf Gara which will present its new collection.
It will also be an opportunity to discover the surprising work of Mahmoud Gara (1902-2005). As touched by grace, Mahmoud Gara got into painting at the age of 99 and will paint tirelessly for three years. Then, shortly before her death, the source dried up as mysteriously as she had appeared.
Unique case in the history of the arts in Tunisia, Mahmoud Gara produced a lush and unbridled work that the public will be able to discover at the Roubtzoff gallery, hosted by Seif Chaouch and Emna Belkadi. This exhibition that brings together the works of the father and the son by comparing them is a pretty initiative that further manifests the surprising and mythical character of the ancestor’s ancestor Gara discovering art when it was almost centenary.
