Pursued for rape and sexual constraint in Switzerland in a case dates back to 2008, the preacher, close to the Muslim Brotherhood, was bleached.
Tariq Ramadan was accused in Switzerland of rape and sexual constraint. Fifteen years later, the Geneva Criminal Court innoceted it, while it is threatened with a trial in France for similar facts …
In the Swiss file, the prosecutor had requested three years in prison, half of which were firm. But Tariq Ramadan was acquitted for lack of evidence, contradictory testimonies, including psychiatrists, and “love messages” sent by the complainant after the facts.
The complainant’s lawyers, 57, converted to Islam, announced to appeal.
According to the complainant, Tariq Ramadan submitted it to brutal sexual acts accompanied by blows and insults in the room of the Geneva hotel where he stayed, the night of October 28, 2008. She had complained ten years after the facts.
In France, Tariq Ramadan is suspected of rapes committed between 2009 and 2016 on four women, a case that sparked his fall in 2017. The Paris prosecutor’s office requested in July his referral to an assize court and it is up to the investigating judges to order a trial or not.
